About
Boros speak Boro language of Sino-Tibetan family. Boros also speak in Hindi, English, Bangla and Assamese to communicate with non-Boros. Boros inhabit Brahmaputra valley and spread across India's Northeast, West Bengal and Nepal, however, at present, they are concentrated in Boroland Territorial Region historically called Dwar or Duar where Boros were only inhabitants to be mentioned in colonial reports. According to B.C. Allen, Duar region currently forming BTR was historically given to Boro tribe since the time of King Naranarayana who considered himself a descendent of Boro ancestor, inheriting political legacy of maternal great grandfather Hajo from Kucch (now Cooch Behar).
